A perfect combination of sweet and salty! Salted popcorn drizzled in melted marshmallow cake batter. What’s not to love?!
This is my go- to Friday night movie treat for the family or anytime we’re craving something sweet but don’t want to go through the effort of making an elaborate dessert. Cake Batter Popcorn is super quick and easy plus it’s ready in about 5 minutes making it perfect for a quick treat to throw together for any guests coming over as well. In fact, I always have all the ingredients in the pantry to make this at any given time. Give this one a try!
Ingredients
- 2 bags popcorn (Salted ONLY) I use Boom Chicka Pop
- 4 Tbsp Butter
- 3 C mini marshmallows
- 1/2 C yellow cake mix – I use Duncan Hines
- Rainbow Sprinkles
Instructions
- Pop your popcorn according to the package instructions. Set aside and remove any un popped kernels.
- As your popcorn is popping add butter into a small saucepan over medium low heat.
- Once melted add mini marshmallows and stir frequently until completely melted and incorporated into the butter.
- Add 1/2 cup of dry cake mix stirring well, once mixed thoroughly remove from heat.
- Work quickly to drizzle marshmallow cake batter over popcorn. Using tongs quickly toss while still warm.
- Sift a little extra dry cake mix (a couple tablespoons) over the popcorn and top with sprinkles!
